DOME OBSERVATORIES

The PTD1 is stand alone dome with a bi-parting walk in door. It does not require the sub building since it is built into the dome. It allows your telescope to view from the horizon to the zenith. It is also ADA compliant since access to the telescope eyepiece for handicapped persons is a easy task.

The PTD2 is a dome that you add to a sub structure building like a home or a sub structure with design constraints. It is available in many colors. Our domes are made from factory painted galvalume which yields extra corrosion resistance not found in regular galvalume domes.

We have developed a walk in, cylindrical sub building that matches our add on dome PTD2. If you dont wish to design your own sub structure, then this sub building is for you. The PTD2 will simply mount to the top ring of the sub building.

Pier-Tech Inc. has developed a dome observatory control system like no other. The control system allows a color touch screen interface. It has a high resolution encoder which counts the azimuth gear rack slots and synchronizes the telescope mount movement with the dome rotation keeping the telescope pointed in the dome shutter opening. It is ASCOM compatible and works well the the Software Bisque Sky X professional software program. This will allow you to pick a target on your computer screen and the dome and telescope will move to that target and stay locked on.
